HKUST is a small institution with 457 academic members, 8,308 undergraduate
and postgraduate students and 1,411 staff members. But the University
is highly effective thanks to the quality of our people. We have
always set our sights on excellence and progress, not simply existence,
and we are proud that in our short history so many of our professors,
students and alumni have been recognized for their academic and
