Further Donations
In a separate development, the University received a HK$100 million award from The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust for the Enterprise Center. This, together with a pledge from the government to provide half of the estimated HK$200 million funding costs, meant construction work could be scheduled. The Center will expand the University's applied research and development facilities, and collaborative ties with industry and business. One enterprising fund-raiser for the Center saw the Staff Association and Alumni Association join forces to organize a Hong Kong Chamber Orchestra concert, raising over HK$100,000.
