Mrs Joan CHEONG (second right), wife of the late Mr Stephen CHEONG, and Dr Alice LAM (second left), Chairman of the Trustees of the Stephen Kam Chuen Cheong Memorial Education Fund, officiated the dedication ceremony for the Stephen Kam Chuen Cheong Hall.

 

Naming Ceremony
A dedication ceremony for the Stephen Kam Chuen Cheong Hall (formerly Postgraduate Hall I) was held on 10 November 2000. The ceremony was jointly officiated by Mrs Joan CHEONG, wife of the late Mr Stephen CHEONG, and Dr Alice LAM, Chairman of the Trustees of the Stephen Kam Chuen Cheong Memorial Education Fund. Mr Cheong was a founding member of the University Council and Chairman of the Council's Appointment Committee responsible for recruiting the University's founding faculty. The Stephen Kam Chuen Cheong Memorial Education Fund donated HK$8.3 million to HKUST in March 2000, to support the University's work in educational development.
