Laureates and leaders |

HKUST invited some of the best and brightest from Hong
Kong and overseas to share their insights during the year. They include:
Prof Chen-Ning Yang, 1957 Nobel Laureate in Physics; Prof Arthur Kornberg,
1959 Nobel Laureate in Medicine and Professor Emeritus of Biochemistry
of Stanford University School of Medicine; Dr David Ho, founding Scientific
Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Aaron Diamond AIDS Research
Center, and Irene Diamond Professor at The Rockefeller University; Prof
Chunli Bai, Vice-President of the Chinese Academy of Sciences; and Prof
Leo Ou-Fan Lee, Professor of Chinese Literature at Harvard University.

In addition, business innovators including Sir Gordon
Wu, chairman of Hopewell Holdings, Mr Ronnie Chan, chairman of Hang Lung
Group, and Mr Thomas Kwok, vice-chairman and managing director of Sun Hung
Kai Properties were invited to speak at programs offered by the School of
Business and Management. Miss Christine Loh, founder of Civic Exchange,
an independent, non-profit, public policy think tank and HKUST Council member
also shared insights about her life experiences with students.
