Entrepreneurship Program
HKUST's Entrepreneurship Program, launched in July 1999, has already provided assistance for 25 technology-based start-ups. Several of these, including Googol Technology (HK) Ltd, iSILK.com Ltd, and Perception Digital Ltd, have attracted venture capital funding, an indication of their promising market potential.

The Entrepreneurship Program is intended to nurture new high-tech businesses in Hong Kong through speedy application of research results. It serves as an avenue for interested faculty, students, and alumni to pursue the commercialization of innovative technologies. Approximately 180 graduates have participated in the Program. The lingering economic downturn since last year has, however, presented additional challenges to the start-ups.
