A wide range of international symposia and forums was held, including the Genechip Symposium and the World Congress on Mass Customization and Personalization. The Symposium of Academic Presidents attracted 70 participants from leading universities in East Asia and Western Europe to discuss the pressing problems of knowledge gap and wealth polarization. |
The University unveiled its second large-scale sculptural installation, the One-World-Fountain. Symbolizing harmony between man and the world, the water sculpture was created by renowned Austrian sculptor Prof Hans Mühr and donated by Court member Dr Helmut Sohmen. |
Close to 1,400 alumni, staff and guests took part in the 10th Anniversary Alumni Homecoming Dinners, celebrating the joyous gatherings amidst laughter, games, dancing and conviviality. The dinners were organized by the four Schools to strengthen ties between alumni and their alma mater. |
An unprecedented 900 faculty and staff gathered for a Christmas party that was marked with fun, friendship and holiday spirit. A host of prizes was donated by the Administration and companies.The party was a fun-filled wrap-up to 10 months of anniversary events. |
