Over 160 leading scholars and students from around the world attended the prestigious Gordon Research Conference on Molecular and Cellular Neurobiology, hosted by HKUST from 2 to 7 June. The Conference is an international forum for the presentation and discussion of frontier research in the biological, chemical and physical sciences, and their related technologies. |
The HKUST Library opened a new Special Collections Room on 6 June, to house two unique collections: Antique Maps of China, and the History of Science and Technology. |
On 14 June, the School of Science invited Nobel Laureates in Physics, Prof Charles Hard Townes and Prof Gerardus 't Hooft, to share their journeys of scientific discovery at the "Dialogues with Giants in Physics". The talk was eagerly attended by HKUST students, alumni and faculty. |
On 19 June the first HKUST President's Cup Awards were presented to the two winning teams by President Paul Ching-Wu Chu. The Award is an annual event aimed at heightening students' interest in research and innovation. |
