World Acclaim
The
School of Business and Management was ranked No.1 on Asia Inc's 2001 list
of top MBA schools in Asia and Australia, while the Financial Times placed
the School 47th in the world in its 2002 MBA rankings the only business
school in the Asia Pacific region to be in the top 50 league. The school
was ranked first in the world for the international experience its MBA program
offers, and second for its international faculty.
For the second consecutive year our Department of Accounting
ranked No.1 in the world for research papers published in five top accounting
journals: Contemporary Accounting Research, the Journal of Accounting
and Economics, the Journal of Accounting Research, the Review of Accounting
Studies and The Accounting Review.
The Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering was ranked No.1
in a survey released in 2001 based on the number of papers published in
the prestigious IEEE Transactions on Electron Devices. The Department
ranked eighth among top universities worldwide for the number of papers
presented at the International Electron Devices Meeting from 1994 to 2000.
The School of Humanities and Social Science conducted
a study of the last five years' publications in three top English journals
in the China field: the China Journal, The China Quarterly and the Journal
of Asian Studies. In terms of the number of papers published HKUST ranked
first in Hong Kong and among the top five universities in the world, sharing
this distinction with Harvard and Stanford.
