Some of the University's Outstanding Students of 2002-03
 

On 31 May and 7 June, HKUST faculty took part in SARS-related presentations, co-organized by the University's Education Development Program, think-tank Civic Exchange and the Hong Kong Science Museum. HKUST experts in economics, civil and mechanical engineering and biology, among other fields, took part. The public talks and discussions attracted an audience of around 200.

 

 

 

A special lunch was held to honor the University's Outstanding Students of 2002-03 on 10 May. The students chosen had either achieved a grade of A- or above throughout their first five semesters at HKUST or given excellent service to the student body.
   
 

The first Hong Kong Physics Olympiad for secondary school students took place on 25 May at the University. More than 400 young scientists from Forms 4-6 participated with the 30 best receiving coaching from HKUST faculty for 12 months. A few will then be chosen to represent Hong Kong at the International Physics Olympiad 2004 in Seoul.
